Last week, we shared about the most popular road biking trails in Richmond Hill. This week, we will share the most popular ones in Markham. Get ready and start planning your bike weekend!

  1. Unionville Valleylands Trail
  2. The Unionville Valleylands are a very important wetland in Markham and it is a local favorite of Markham area residents for a ‘quick stroll’. This trail is great for beginners and it takes an average of 55 mins to complete the route. It is also baby stroller and wheelchair friendly. The trail is 5.0 km long with scenic views to watch seasonal birds. The place is great for beautiful pictures, slow down and look around for birds when you are biking there!

  3. German Mills Settlers Park Loop
  4. This 2.1 km trail only takes 29 mins to complete, a great start for beginner bikers. Not only can you enjoy the beautiful view, you can also develop your interest in biking. The park is a great place for family picnics, what a great weekend activity with your loved ones!

  5. Rouge Valley Trail
  6. The Rouge Valley Trail follows the Rouge River along Toogood Pond located in the heart of Unionville, continues south to Austin Drive Park and connects to Milne Conservation Park. This trail is 15 km long and it takes an average of 2 hrs 21 mins to complete. As the trail needs more time to complete, please remember to bring enough water and snacks to power up!
