Bike Month
Thank you for participating in Bike Month this June!
Bike Month celebrated the many benefits of cycling and encouraged residents to choose two wheels for commuting, recreation, and everyday transportation. Throughout June, participants logged bike trips, explored local cycling routes, and learned more about cycling safety, infrastructure, and tourism through a series of engaging webinars.
By logging bike trips through the Smart Commute Tool, participants helped demonstrate the positive impact cycling has on reducing emissions, improving health, and creating more sustainable communities. Cyclists were also entered for a chance to WIN one of several $100 Shop Local gift cards.
Learning Through Webinars
As part of Bike Month, Smart Commute hosted a series of informative webinars featuring transportation professionals, researchers, municipal staff, and cycling advocates. These sessions explored cycling safety, infrastructure, equity in active transportation, secure bike parking, and cycle tourism opportunities across Ontario.
