Winter Commute Month is all about embracing the season, building sustainable habits, and tracking your impact along the way.

Each trip - whether by bike, carpool, public transit, or on foot - can reduce emissions, help to ease traffic congestion, and contribute to cleaner communities.

With Smart Commute’s easy-to-use trip-logging feature you’ll be able to log your efforts and monitor your personal stats throughout the month. Track your progress, view your carbon reduction, and watch your impact add up to real change!

Chance to Win a $100 shop local gift Card!

Each sustainable commuting trip you log on the Smart Commute Tool counts as 1 entry to a random prize draw of a $100 shop local gift card.

How to participate:

• Log your trips on SmartCommute.ca for a chance to WIN a $100 shop local gift card.
• Each sustainable commuting trip counts as one (1) entry to the random prize draw.
• New users (welcome!) who create their account between February 1 and 28, 2026, gain two (2) entries to the random prize draw.
• Sustainable trips include walking, running, public transit, carpooling, bicycling, rollerblading, skateboarding or telework (remote work).
• Trips must be taken between February 1 and 28, 2026, and must be logged on the Smart Commute Tool by 11:59pm EST on Friday, March 7, to qualify for the prize draw. 
• You can only upload two (2) commute trips per day for the contest.
• A prize draw will be drawn in March or April. You will be notified if you have won through your email address. Please ensure that it is typed correctly and can be contacted.
• Each respective Smart Commute office reserves the right to distribute prizes, subject to change without notice.

Note:Logging a trip on SmartCommute.ca automatically enters you into the Winter Commute Month Contest and winners may choose to opt out of receiving the prize.
