How Daily Travel Affects Quality of Life in Canada Webinar: Thursday, February 27 2025 (Watch the recording below!)
Research and practice have long focused on developing and implementing quality of life indicators to prioritize well-being in decision-making. Tools and methods for evaluating self-assessed well-being have gained significant traction in recent decades, with travel recognized as one of the many dimensions influencing overall well-being. However, many of these measures remain overly generic and indirect, lacking the nuance needed to address the needs of diverse populations, such as older adults. A better grasp of the travel-related factors that influence older adults’ assessment of their quality of life could contribute to a more accurate understanding of their well-being and untangle travel’s role in happy and healthy aging.
Though the presentation will be centered on older adults, many of the insights we uncovered in the research are highly relevant for all age groups! Meredith Alousi-Jones and Dr. Ahmed Elgeneidy from the Transportation Research at McGill (TRAM) will share new research insights that may inspire you to commute more sustainably and happily.
