Enhance your Bike Ride to Work

Biking to work is a great have some alone time while being active and outdoors. If that's not enough, there are multiple things you can do to enjoy your bike ride even more.


Making an upbeat playlist will cause your brain to release dopamine. This in combination with waking up your body through exercise which will energize your brain and put you in a positive alert mindset for your workday. We challenge you to make a point of listening to happy music for two weeks and you will notice an improvement in your mood!


Biking with friends is beneficial as you guys will be able to bond over the shared interest. Having a shared interest will strengthen your bond. We encourage you to connect with others in the biking community to make valuable friendships and connections.


Making a pitstop on the way to work or from a favourite coffee shop is a great way to reward yourself. We recommend allowing yourself to stop for a treat every Friday after work if you manage to bike to and from work every day that week.


The winter weather often puts a damper on many people's biking goals. A type of bike called the Fat Bike is great for biking in winter conditions as it has wide tires meant for challenging snowy conditions. If the weather looks dangerous to bike in, we suggest carpooling or using public transit. During this time you can keep up your biking skills by using a stationary bike at home or at your local gym.


Biking is a great way to improve your performance at work, become more healthy, improve your mental health and strengthen the bond you have with your community. We challenge you to bike every day for 21 days. After you do this make note of all the improvements you notice in your life!
