On Thursday, September 14, Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill hosted their 8th Annual Workplace Champions Workshop at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel. Guests had the opportunity to hear from guest speakers Ryan Mallany (Honda Canada) and Sonia Singla (WSP Canada), who spoke to the audience about their experiences as Smart Commute workplace champions and how the Smart Commute program has been implemented at their workplace. Other guest speakers included Richard Wizemann (YRT/Viva), who introduced the Transit Work Pass program and updates to the YRT/Viva system, and Darryl Young (York Region), who highlighted the recently launched Smart Commute Resource Hub, an online platform contains the most up-to-date information about alternative commuting options and Smart Commute materials to help workplace champions run a Smart Commute workplace program.
Guests also received updates from the Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill team regarding the 2017 TDM projects, social media contest and the annual Smart Commute Month campaign (September 11 – October 6).
