Bike to Work Day 2019

On Monday, May 27, over 100 participants joined Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill (SCMRH)’s 12th annual Bike to Work Day, with 96 of those being enthusiastic cyclists who took part in the group ride. This year’s ride featured the Highway 404/Highway 7 Interchange improvements and Lake to Lake Cycling Route and Walking Trail. New this year, 10 km and 6.8 km routes were introduced to provide participants with options based on their comfort levels and cycling experience.

All routes began at WSP’s Thornhill office, where participants cycled to AECOM’s Richmond Hill office for a water and prize break. Participants received a Bike to Work Day t-shirt or SCMRH water bottle, continental breakfast, bike safety checks from Evolution Cycles, stretching and soft tissue therapy from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, prizes and giveaways, and had the opportunity to network with local cyclists.

SCMRH would like to thank all participants, vendors, sponsors, funders, and partners for their continued support of the Bike to Work Day group ride:
