Smart Commute Week 2011

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2011 Smart Commute Week Challenge.

Congratulations to Wendy Fung, winner of the 2011 Smart Commute Week Challenge! Wendy works at Philips Electronics Canada, which is a Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill workplace.

Her daily commute consists of carpooling in to work with a colleague in the morning, and using two public transit systems, YRT and TTC, to get home in the evening, so she is truly a smart commuter!

Wendy’s prize includes return travel between Toronto and Ottawa for two people on Via Rail for Winterlude in February 2012, including two nights accommodation at a downtown Ottawa hotel.

Wendy’s name was selected from more than 650 entries in the contest, which ran from September 19 – 25. Smart Commute Week encourages commuters to try sustainable modes of transportation such as carpooling, public transit, walking, cycling or teleworking.
