In most cases, the rules of the road apply to cyclists and drivers equally. 

Before you head out on the road, you should be familiar with your rights and responsibilities as a cyclist.

A bicycle is a vehicle according to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and is therefore subject to the same fines. Municipalities also write their own by-laws so be sure to check with your local Police Station for a complete list.
